Why I Built This Space

If you wander around my new website, Eiain Lennon, you won’t find a series of step-by-step instructions. You won’t find a polished, rigid masterclass or a sequence of strictly curated, flawless portfolios. I didn’t build this website to act as a lecturer, nor did I build it to present a sanitised version of a creative life.

Instead, I built this space to give my creative curiosity a home—and to share the pure, unfiltered joy of making things with anyone else who feels the pull to create.

For a long time, my work has refused to sit quietly in a single box. I am an artist, a maker, and a writer. On any given day, my hands might be covered in ink from drawing, dust from making sculptures, or yarn from a knitting project. I find just as much happiness in the smell of scorched wood during a pyrography session as I do in the quiet rhythm of putting down words for a new book or poem.

This website exists because I wanted a singular, dedicated place to express what makes me happy, what makes me tick, and the things I love. It is a digital window into my creative mind.

I want to show other makers, artists, and dreamers exactly what can be done when you stop worrying about boundaries. You don’t have to choose between being a writer or a painter. You don’t have to abandon sculptures to focus on knitting. Every form of art feeds into the next. The lines of a sketch influence the texture of a piece of wood; the narrative of a story shapes the mood of a monochrome painting.

By gathering all of these disciplines under one roof, I hope to inspire others to experiment fearlessly with their own ideas.

Because this site is an honest expression of a maker’s life, it is going to evolve dynamically. Creativity is not a straight line from inspiration to masterpiece. It is messy, unpredictable, and full of trial and error.

To reflect that, I am committing to sharing my progress as it actually happens. As we go along, I will be adding sketches and projects in all of their developmental states:

• The Good: Those rare, beautiful moments where the vision in my head perfectly matches the reality on the canvas.
• The Bad: The awkward middle stages where a project feels stuck, shapes look clumsy, and the direction is uncertain.
• The Ugly: The absolute failures. The sketches that went entirely wrong, the experiments that collapsed, and the ideas that looked terrible on paper but taught me something valuable anyway.

Showing only the finished, perfect product does a disservice to the craft. By sharing the raw iterations, I want to demystify the creative process.

This website is a living thing. Tomorrow it might hold a photograph of a finished sculpture; next week it might feature a snippet of a murder mystery or a raw, messy charcoal study.
